The Cobbler's Apprentice

I started reading this wonderful story and then I realized... Hey, I read the first book with these same characters.  I was thrilled.

The book was everything I could ask for.  I loved Jimmy. He knew what he wanted.  He was loyal and hardworking.  He knew that Enid was the girl he loved. But she disappeared and he had no idea where or why.

A wonderful story of perseverance and determination. The characters are great.

I highly recommend this story. I was entertained by every page. Another hit by Lynette Rees.

I received this book from Boldwood to review.

Tyler McQuaid has been too busy managing his family’s luxury ranch resort to think about love. But when his dad gets sick and may not have long to live, Tyler begins to question what is truly important. He’s already failed once at love and marriage, but how can he say no to his dad’s sickbed wish that he try again?

Kinsey Wingrove, a traveling nurse, prefers to keep her relationships short and sweet, and yes, even shallow. With the losses she’s already experienced in life, it’s just easier that way. When she arrives at Healing Springs Ranch, she clashes with her new patient’s son, the handsome cowboy who runs the place and doesn’t think she’s the right nurse for his dad.

As sparks fly between Tyler and Kinsey, the meddling, matchmaking McQuaid family sees that more can exist between the two than they will acknowledge. BOOK THREE: His Perfect Bride

Isn't this cover gorgeous?  Sage was beyond beautiful. Jackson couldn't help noticing after his sister introduced him to her as her lady's maid.

As time went by, he couldn't help seeking her out.  Sage was confused as to why he would as she was "just" a servant. Not perfect in any way.

Who's perfect?  I know that it is difficult to look at what we do well. We constantly go over and over the mistakes we have made. Jackson and Sage needed reminders that no one is perfect. We are not expected to be.

I absolutely love reading anything by Jody Hedlund.  She knows how to tell a story.  This one is very entertaining.  I  always know that I'm in for a treat when I open one of her books.

The Indigo Heiress

Drastic times equal drastic measures. Juliet had to do the unthinkable to save herself and her sister, Loveday. She took the risk and married.

A great, historical story of a time period where one had to take a side.  Are you for or against the Crown?

Scotland is the home of my maternal grandfather's family. We visited a couple of years ago and loved the beautiful country. I enjoyed visiting this country within the pages of this book.

Leith Buchanan was the Scot Juliet married. He got her attention but could he capture her heart?

I loved the book!

The House of Echoes

Decisions were made for her by her father and then her husband.  She had no say.

Christine has lived her whole life keeping secrets.  What would happen if the truth was told? She is on a mission to discover Anne's true story.   In the meantime, her own true story is kept hidden.

I am so glad I read this book.  It kept my attention and I enjoyed it immensely. Quite interesting.  I love reading about the Tudor period but thankfully, I live in 2025.

I received this book from Boldwood Books to review.

The House of Echoes

‘The Brandon blood is dark with lies and treachery and as it flows through my heart, my vow ist this: they will all pay.’

Hampton Court Palace 1530s

Anne Brandon has always understood the power of a king’s patronage and, though the court of Henry VIII is a dangerous place for women, as the daughter of the king’s best friend, Anne feels safer than most. But Anne’s husband Lord Powis is tiring of her childlessness and when Henry VIII begins plotting to rid himself of a queen in his quest for an heir, suddenly Anne’s life is in danger. And as whispers of the name of her friend Anne Boleyn get ever louder, there is peril in every loose word, every forbidden conversation.

Pembrokshire Present Day

Caroline Harvey has spent years helping her grandfather, the reclusive bestselling novelist Dexter Blake, hide from his legions of fans in his home on the Pembrokshire coast. After his death, the vultures begin to circle Dexter’s fortune. When Caroline’s ownership of the house she has inherited is called into question, her research into its history reveals it was once owned by Anne Brandon who had sought refuge there. Intrigued, Caroline is determined to discover why Anne fled the court of Henry VIII.

Two women divided by centuries but joined by secrets and courage. And when a twist in their histories threatens them both with the same fate – losing the man they love – their revenge will be the same too. Because there’s no one mightier than a woman underestimated or more powerful than the need to save those they love.

Bestseller Alexandra Walsh is back with a compelling, captivating insight into the Tudor court through the eyes of a woman who had only her guile to keep her alive. Perfect for all fans of Barbara Erskine, Philippa Gregory, Anne O’Brien and Elena Collins.

Heart of the Glen

Owen is one of the main characters in this story. I already knew I would love him as my grandson's name is Owen. Owen McCready is an Irish Weaver in the beautiful town of Dunlewey, Ireland.  The town is made up of many kind and passionate residents. They are hardworking and willing to help their neighbors in their time of need.

Saoirse Fagan came upon the town in a desperate situation. She was extremely fortunate to meet Owen's sister, Aileen, on the way.

Both Owen and Saoirse had difficulties in letting go of their past regrets.  It wasn't until they listened, really listened to GOD that they were able to live the life GOD planned for them.

I absolutely loved the book. It had everything I love in a story. Romance. The location. The characters. Owen, Saoirse and Aileen were a joy to get to know.

Jennifer Diebel has a special talent in bringing her characters alive.

A Year of Flowers

Three young women all found themselves working in a small florist shop. Their love of flowers sends them on three separate  journeys.  They are driven to succeed but with a few detours on the way.

Tessa, Clare and Jaimie discovered much more about themselves than they bargained for. Each had a responsibility to learn and accept what part they played in the past. This discovery led them to reach their dreams.

I enjoyed the three individual stories that made the book. I'm sure you will to. The women became much more beautiful than the flowers they work with.

I received this book from Celebrate Lit to review.

A Year of Flowers: Friendships in Full Bloom

If you’ve ever tended to a garden, you know that flowers and friendships have a lot in common—they both need a bit of love, attention, and sometimes, a good pruning. That’s the heart of my novella collection called A Year of Flowers, stories of three teenage girls who bonded over bouquets and blossomed into best friends under the guidance of Rose, the wise and wonderful flower shop owner.

But life, much like a garden, doesn’t always go according to plan. On one sweltering August day, something dreadful happens in the flower shop, and the girls, who once shared everything, suddenly vanish from each other’s lives.

Seven years later, we find out where each girl, now a young woman, has gone. Their love for flowers is still in full bloom. Jaime’s taken her talent to the big city, working as a floral artist for a high-end event agency in NYC. She’s turning heads with her extravagant designs, but something’s missing—maybe it’s the simple joy she once found in that small-town flower shop.

Claire has run off to Savannah, Georgia, where she’s knee-deep in blooms, working in a flower shop with dreams of running the place one day. She’s got her eye on the prize, but she’s also discovering that you can’t outrun the past, no matter how far you go.

Then there’s Tessa, who’s found solace in the soil of Asheville, NC, where she’s started a flower farm. It’s a peaceful life, but even in the quiet of the mountains, memories of that summer day haunt her like the mist that rolls over the hills.

As each story unfolds, we see that, like flowers, friendships need TLC. They can wilt easily without care and attention. And sometimes, a good pruning is necessary, to help it grow stronger.

In the final novella, the three young women are drawn back to where it all began—the flower shop, and to Rose. It’s time to dig up the past, clear out the weeds, and see if their friendship can bloom again. After all, just because a garden has been neglected doesn’t mean it can’t be revived with a little care and attention.

So, if you’re a fan of flowers, friendships, or happy endings, get a copy of A Year of Flowers. It’s a reminder that with the right care, both flowers and friendships can flourish, no matter how long they’ve been left untended.

About the Author
Todd Woodfill is a modern-day Renaissance man whose life could be inspirational if it
didn’t so closely resemble a comedy sketch. Married to his absolutely amazing, beautiful,
intelligent, and talented wife Holly for a whirlwind 30 years so far, he couldn’t imagine
doing life without her support. With four incredible children and one extraordinary
grandchild, who refer to Todd as Dad, Papa, dork, old timer, and weirdo, Todd has been
blessed far more than he deserves.\
Passionate about mental health and suicide prevention, men’s ministries, Legos, boxing,
and pursuing God, Todd is a man of many talents and clearly a master of none. But who
else can seamlessly switch from being a Jordan sneaker connoisseur to a boxing enthusiast,
all while building men’s ministries and helping those with mental health challenges. Heck,
this guy can be found passionately discussing the virtues of mental wellness, only to break
into a joyful song from a Disney classic, spreading cheer like a modern-day Mary Poppins
with a passion for Christ. His life is a whirlwind of laughter, love, and an unshakable faith,
making him the ultimate blend of humor and heart in a world that often takes itself too
seriously.
