Louise's War

I can't get enough of English historical stories. I'm partial to books centered around WWI or WWII.  My maternal relatives lived in Great Britain during both wars.

This is a great story.  I couldn't put it down. The book deals with two families from completely different backgrounds. One is privileged and the other family worked for them.  But war evens the playing field.  Both suffer loss.  Both suffer heartache.

Louise suffers greatly in her marriage.  But circumstances change when an injured English soldier shows up at her farm.

It emotionally moved me.  I couldn't put it down.
